Campaign Difficulty

Campaign Difficulty Easy
  1. In an easy campaign, if a player character dies, the player may create a new character at the same level as their previous character.
  2. Items can be recovered from the deceased player character’s body, but their value must be subtracted from the new character’s total wealth during character creation.
Campaign Difficulty Hardcore
  1. In a hardcore campaign, if a player character dies, the player is removed from the campaign unless their character is resurrected.
  2. A new player may join the campaign to replace the removed player at the Game Master's discretion. Typically the new player joins at the average party level for game balance.
  3. Items may be recovered from the deceased player character’s body.
  4. If there is a Total Party Kill, the campaign ends, and the GM can choose to start a new campaign.
Campaign Difficulty Normal
  1. In an normal campaign, if a player character dies, the player may create a new character at one level lower than their previous character.
  2. Items can be recovered from the deceased player character’s body, but their value must be subtracted from the new character’s total wealth during character creation.
