You can try to direct your Inspection to a particular spot within reach in the encounter if you feel some inventory might be Hidden.

The results are rolled as a Secret Roll, only visible to the GM. But upon success hidden inventory will be revealed.

A hidden inventory can only be revealed if you can see it with your senses. Targeting the darkness is valid, but you will not reveal hidden creatures if your senses cannot detect them normally.

Your eyes narrow on the shadowed crevice, senses sharpening like a blade's edge against unseen folds of reality. Fingers trace the air, probing the gloom where outlines blur into concealment—leather pouches, glinting metal, or coiled ropes emerging from the void. Success peels back the veil, exposing the hoard in stark, tactile detail, while failure leaves only the whisper of what might be.
